The bad news is that our competition for this year has been cancelled. We tried every way possible to make it work, but with only 3 teams pre-registered and a whopping 16 team dances two weeks prior to the competition (6 of which were from one group), we felt it would not be worth the competitors time and money to travel here and dance for 3 or 4 hours. So we have chosen to cancel the competition rather than put on a bad, not to mention unchallenging, competition. The good news is that we have not given up the hope of making this thing work. We know that we have had one of the best competitions around in the past. It may not have been the largest but the dancers and spectators really enjoyed the competition. We hear this all the time when we travel from past competitors and people that have heard about us through the grapevine. We don't know if it was just a bad time of the year, high gas prices or that school was starting soon but our pre-registration was down considerably. We will try and figure out what the right recipe is and make this competition cook. If you have any ideas, we would love to hear from you. Remember, the Lonestar Shoot Out is about the dancers. Your input is appreciated and wanted. Please check back in the coming months for updates regarding 2006. Again, your input is very valuable to us. If you have something you would like to tell us please click on the "Question & Comments" Link to the left and let us hear from you. ![]()
