The people in
Foley turned out in record numbers to see some Texas
talent.

The Alabama National Guard was called upon
to deploy to Bagdad while we were there. On the way to the Armory we received word
that they would be passing right behind the stage where we were performing. Curtis
(with the Opry Band) made anouncements to get everyone in the park to line the
street behind the stage. Two of the Dixie dancers removed the Alabama and Texas
flags from the stage to hold high in the air as they passed by. The Opry band
played "God Bless The USA" as literly hundreds of people lined the street cheering,
clapping and some crying. It was truly the highlight of our week and an honor to put smiles, and tears, on
their faces as the soldiers passed by.
